Thanks for posting this. 

Not to derail the thread, but is there much sense in putting programming stuff in the programming group?  It seems like few(er) people read it.  Case in point, I posted the lz4 & aplib page a couple of days ago in csa2.programming (minus the nice info and examples provided here).  I thought about cross-posting, but I don't know the rules/etiquette  on that.  Just curious... 

Anyway, still great to see more people finding out about these great tools.
