Looks like it's feature-equivalent with the CM345. I'd guess that IIgs RGB
video would look reasonable through it, but I've tried feeding composite video
into the appropriate SCART pin on my CM345s and it looks just as bad as the
Grandtec.
Another possibility might be the Ambery AV-9
(http://www.ambery.com/3x2vitohdvga.html).
There are folks on the list who have tried the Ambery. Reports have not been
favorable.
Does anybody have experience with these converters with respect to IIe/c/gs
video so the FAQ answer can be updated and additionally whether they
support ][+ 80-col video?
Hopefully my reply helps. All that said, I have never tried running the
output of a Videx-style (onboard video generator) board into a converter. I'd
expect these to more closely resemble a proper NTSC signal. You've sparked my
interest! I'll give that a try.
Again, what I am most interested in is recommendations for a PCIe 1x video
capture solution or more detailed ][+ 80-col video information that might
allow me to make an educated selection, i.e. do I need NTSC 4.43 support,
advanced de-interlacing, or both? What feature(s) made the 15K RGB
successful?
One gadget that intrigues me is the SLG 3000 scan-line generator. This
inserts low-intensity (adjustable) "fake" scan lines into a 640x480 VGA signal
for display on an LCD. Judging from photos of various older video consoles,
this sharpens the image up quite a bit. Would love to see what it can do for
80-col text upconverted to an LCD display.
