For me, nostalgia dictates amber, I had an amber monitor on the II+ 
clone I spent most of my time with (though the family's II+ had a color 
monitor).  For me, amber always seemed much calmer, though perhaps not 
as sharp as green.  My terminal windows now though are always white or 
green on black, so I don't know what that indicates.
