A better solution may be something like Mike Willegal's 6522 proto card.  With it's built-in EEPROM, one could even write a SmartPort interface and have it just work with ProDOS.  Also, it's probably easier to find Mike's card than an APIC.

That's pretty cool, Dave.  I have two of those little web cams for my Macs, but they are both serial and they use the ADB connection for power.
