I read somewhere that it was supposed to be almost twice as big.  The ROM was to include:

Almost all disk based tools were to be stored in ROM.
A possible SCSI driver was to be built in and an internal hard drive included.
A few other minor things

Although, what I read could have been someone elses wishful thinking.

But I will try to locate that article.  I am sure it was by someone working on the project at the time it was scrapped.
