When I turn it on it goes straight to BASIC, when I turn it off the drive light lights up for a split second. I have ran the built in diagnostic, CTRL, Open apple, Reset. It does the colors on the screen and then beeps a few times, and continues showing colors and beeping a few times ever 30 seconds or so. Never finishes the test. Thank you for all your help, anyway to test a P/S?
First, remove all other cards except the mouse and disk card; remove the
80 characters card too, if you haven't done so.
When you get dropped into BASIC, call the monitor (CALL -151) and try if
you can "see" the disk controller ROM at $C600. Enter C600L at the
asterisk promt to get a disassembly, for example. Do you see code or
nonsense? If it is code - is it actually the disk code or stuff from the
mouse card? Try to list with C400L too, for the mouse card (if you have
it in slot 4).
Try with the mouse card in slot 1 and the disk in slot 2. I have seen
Apples where the lower numbered slots worked more reliably than the
higher numbered ones, for some odd reason.
