A little more information might be helpful. What slot are you plugging the card into? Mouse card should be in slot#4 The 5.25 goes into slot #6. One or two drives? Did you try Just the mouse card with out the mouse?
Maybe the power supply is weak. I kind of doubt it. But if you have 2 drives and it boots ok. Now if you can take the second off line easy. You can try booting up with one drive and the mouse card. If it boots then the P.S. is weak. I have seen this on the IIgs, but not on the IIe yet. What ever you do be careful the power is OFF when you do anything. DOUBLE and TRIPLE check the drive connections before you put it back and power up. TOO many have damaged their drives by not getting it write.
