I'm still considering whether Arkanoid might be doable, but I haven't had
luck isolating the disk i/o routines.
I tend to think of myself as a "monkey coder" - very inefficient, barely
skilled and not particularly capable of what I set out to do. It isn't
that what I do is difficult or complicated, but any surprise is usually
that anyone even considered doing it. I've got a lot of half-assed stuff
lying around that almost works, and it annoys me.
One of my unfinished tools is called RDOS Manager. I never finished it
because it did what I needed and my questionable skills were needed
elsewhere, but it filled a hole in functionality which Ciderpress doesn't
provide - creation of and write access to RDOS disk images. (I can
release the unfinished code, I suppose...)
My halfassed hack of Lode Runner is still slightly broken, in that I need
to either fix or disable the high score table code.
I got over my head before I even tried to do anything significant toward
porting Dr. Mario to the ][. :<
