Re: DreamGrafix
The filetype is a one-byte code and the auxtype a two-byte code which are assigned to all files in the ProDos filesystem. These identify the type of data in a file and is commonly used by applications to determine which files it can open and understand.
A typical graphics file for most IIgs software would have a filetype of $C0 or $C1. Often, developers would change these filetypes when releasing their software to obfuscate the type of data within, making it harder for people to discern the type of their assets and change them.
Briefly searching the web, I found this list of filetypes: http://www.kreativekorp.com/miscpages/a2info/filetypes.shtml
Look at the entries for "$Cx Types: Graphics" to see what potential filetypes (and auxtypes) there are for IIgs graphics files.
Changing the filetype is not exactly straightforward as you will need a utility that allows you to manually edit the type. I believe I used to use ProSel by Glen Bredon. I'm sure there are many others.
I hope that helps.
