Req for Ideas, Picking IIGS High Level Lang

This is kind of a follow-on to my earlier question about hardware
interfacing a IIGS with the outside world.

Please give your $.02 on what high-level language for the IIGS currently
fits these criteria:

1. Can be installed on a hard drive (image or real).
2. Run under GS/OS 6.0.1.
3. Read from a serial port using GS/OS Tools or language/environment-
specific libraries.
4. Read from the 16-pin joystick port using GS/OS Tools or
language/environment-specific libraries.
5. Has code examples for manipulating/loading/saving SHR graphics.

My intent is to first build a (simple) graphic logging/graphing utility
that reads and displays analog data. My second one is go "go the other
way" and write something that sends commands out. My development
environment will be KEGS32, and I will use a combination of CiderPress
my MicroDrive to deploy the release bits to real IIGS hardware.

So... I grabbed a copy of Complete Pascal, and it does not appear to
satisfy (3) or (4). I started to look at GSBasic, some docs say it can
do (4). I then visited
http://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/programming-applications and there
are so many there, I thought I would ask folks with experience before I
blindly try them all.

Thanks for all help/ideas.
