Are you familiar with how to use the System Configuration Program to
install drivers on your boot disk? You'll need to do that and add a
Silentype driver. I see at least one WAP disk that has both:

You'll want to add the US version of SITYPE.DRIVER. Take note of the
device name - I think it will be .SILENTYPE, which will have an effect
on what you are opening and writing to...
