I have a Transwarp I in my //e and later upgraded it with a 65802 (for
running Merlin 16), but you raise a good point as I forgot to check whether
the 65SC802 is still manufactured. I just left a query to WDC sales support
regarding this.
However,
a) the W65SC02 is still produced and can imply a more subtle rewrite of many
loops within Applesoft and (to a lesser extent) to the monitor.
b) https://groups.google.com/d/msg/comp.sys.apple2/C8hap5vZ_24/KkL8P2beyzUJ
I understand that the W65SC816 can be adapted to old Apple // too. But this
requires further consideration...
