Hello,
Have you ever wished to run Z80 programs but w/o to depend on CP/M for doing
that kind of things?
The only prerequisite is to have a SoftCard compatible peripheral card in
your Apple 2.
Well ZBRUN will fit this task easily, from either ProDOS 8 or DOS 3.3, and
with a bridge so that Z80 programs can perform I/O (both keyboard, screen
and disk) and call misc. 6502 routines.
The root URL is http://bgilon.free.fr/apple2
The DOS 3.3 stuff is within the D34Merlin_ZBrun.do, it contains a small demo
Z80 exe file for you to get an idea.
Boot, Exit from Merlin, Type BRUN ZEXEC, Now ZBRUN is a new DOS 3.3 command,
Type ZBRUN ZDEMO.
BTW ZEXEC.S and ZDEMO.S are the source files.
And that's it.
The ProDOS stuff is within the P8Merlin_ZBrun.do disk image, including a
Appleworks AWP doc file and the source file ZBRUN.S
Boot the disk, BRUN the ZBRUN file, this will install an external command
named ZBRUN, now ZBRUN a Z80 exe file (same syntax as usual BRUN command).
One thing that is missing on this disk is a demo file just like for the DOS
3.3 side.
As usual, any remark will be welcome on this thread,
Regards,
Benoît
