I’m running a 9600, mostly for games though I have used it to write
floppies for the Apple II. Although a USB floppy drive works will
enough for that if the disks are for my IIgs.
I maxed the RAM in the 9600. It has a G3 card, USB card with USB
keyboard and wireless Kensington trackball. It boots off a compact
flash card connected to an ATA 100 card. Was using a 9200 video card
but needed it elsewhere so now it’s using a Radeon 7000 video card
with a HP 27” lcd monitor. I have a number of options available on
hand so I could add SATA, firewire 400 or 800. Have some ZIF cards so
I could go with a G4 ZIF or possibly, I have a 1.1ghz G3 ZIF but it
uses software to set the speed so I don’t know if the software would
work in a case like this. Still, I think the default speed without
software is 600 or 650mhz.
If I had a 9600 question, I'd likely try 68k mla or possibly Apples
