Hi all,

I constructed a RAM expansion card for my newly acquired ROM1 IIgs, using this design:

http://www.harrowalsh.de/Elektronik/APPLEBOX/4MB2IIGS/cheap%20alternate%204MB%20RAM%20for%20IIGS.pdf

It's supposedly based on the Garberstreet design.

Are there any requirements for the SIMMs installed in to this type of device? E.g. Is there a speed requirement, or do they have to be the 9-chip kind of SIMM as opposed to the 3-chip kind I've got loads of?

Once I have the right SIMMs, is there a way to tell if the device is being recognised properly through the system configuration screen? Will the "free memory" value on the RAM Disk page include the additional memory?

Thanks for your help.

Do you mean Vince Briels design?
