Though I have a Mac, I find that when I need to run Sweet16, I just boot into my laptop OSx86/Hackintosh partition and run Sweet16 from there.

It will probably also work on a VirtualBox guest environment; maybe slower, but  you're just trying to emulate an originally 2.8 MHz machine anyway.  OS X runs fairly well in VirtualBox.  Last I tried was Snow Leopard, and I didn't try running Sweet16 back then.
