To my eye there are two separate components here: 
The "einschwingen" which in English is known as ringing and an underlying
undamped ripple. 

The shape is not ideal, but no real world signal ever is.

If anyone else has a working card and O'scope you may be able to get an
exemplar. 

It still sounds like your problem has a physical (mechanical) cause if the
plastic rod makes a difference.
