Asimov Additions - first game wave (8.25.12)

Greetings,

Now that the dust has settled, I have a list of all the programs contained in the disk image collection of the floppies I had. I've place file-based programs on separate disk images too, for easier sorting and listing.

The next phase I'm doing is to reconcile my list with what's listed on Asimov, and upload stuff that I seem to have, but is not on Asimov. I'm only going by title (mostly), but do try to note things that differ in being 'full disk' versus file, or other differences that seem worth investigating. [A more thorough reconciliation would involve checking for different runtime versions (cracks or otherwise), but I've opted not to dig that deeply for now.]

Anyway, even checking against titles is slow. I've made it through one group of games so far (~275), and have now uploaded around a couple dozen titles that seemed to either be MIA or possibly different in some material way (not just different cracks).

I've composed an annoted list of what I uploaded, below. I'll be curious to see if this percentage holds up across the rest of the process (~10% new stuff to add).

This will take a while...

]HR

BEACH_HEAD_III.dsk - 1987 Access Software. There are Beach Head and Beach Head II, but I was a bit surprised not to find this as well. Maybe I just missed it somehow, but here it is anyway.

BEZARE_hr.dsk - Southwestern Data Systems, all in alien text. Something I cracked in early days... (but don't see it elsewhere).

CRITICAL_ZONE.dsk - unpublished game from William the Kracker (who also wrote Aeronaut and Cat-Connection).

DEMONIC_DECKS.dsk - first game written by Peter Ward (who went on to write Black Magic and others).

DILEMMA_S1.dsk - Karateka/arcade hybrid.
DILEMMA_S2.dsk

FIREGROUND_S1.dsk - probably Arcade Game Machine derived, but came as two sides.
FIREGROUND_S2.dsk

FLOCKLAND_ISLAND_CRISIS.dsk - full disk version with title, early Kevin Bagley effort (his name is still in the high scores file).

GALACTICGLIDERS_SPARTAN.dsk - two-pak of games from Bob Brodersen and Craig Warner (these games were later re-packaged by others, like Keypunch Software).

JAPANESE_KARATEKA.dsk - I'm not sure what to make of this - yes, it does run, but has really long delay loops in the code (which can be disabled at $D2C). Eventually you will reach a Karateka-like game.

KILLER_KLAMS.dsk - early game from Rod Nelson, full disk version.

LODES_LOADRUNNER.dsk - probably a 'fan' game variation.

MAPPLE.dsk - full disk with intro and cheat.

MICRO_SUB.dsk - 1983 game by Robert Stach and Robber Fly Software. Who?

PEEPING_TOM_hr.dsk - 1982 Micro Lab game. Another one that's probably out
there, but I couldn't find it. Another early crack I did (as evidenced by the crack screeen - oh well).

POPEYE_S1.dsk - I think Asimov has one side, but I had two sides. The second side is filled with what appear to be the files for the game. Was this an
attempt from Tony Software to get their game published by EOA, but then
'released' it anyway? It does have Mockingboard support, and is a bit interesting to explore. The screen messes up after the title page, but keep
going to the game.
POPEYE_S2(files).dsk

SHEILA_hr.dsk - game from H.A.L. Labs and another early crack I did. I do see
it was recently uploaded to Asimov, but that version seems to hang, so I'm
including this version.

SPACESHIP_EXPLORER_FORCE.dsk - Game written by Chris Ferguson, possibly
unpublished.

TIME_PILOT.dsk - Game by Paul F.K. Mak. Has Mockingboard support. Possibly unpublished.

TIME_TUNNELS.dsk - full disk version, maybe there are differences.

WHOMPER_STOMPER.dsk - game from Adventure International, but Apple version written by Steve Waldo. Decent graphics!

ZAXXON_128K_hr.dsk - this is the 128K version of Zaxxon.
