It works with Wine.  You'll need to obtain a copy of mfc42.dll and put it in
the CiderPress install directory to get it running.  I just tested it on
Linux to make sure, as ISTR having run CiderPress on Linux in the past. 

According to the Wine wiki, Wine also works on Mac OS X on x86.  There was
also a project to combine Wine with QEMU to get Wine running on Mac OS X on
PowerPC, but it's no longer being maintained.
