Re: Sweet16 Starter Kit

There is one major difference between connecting into a host Mac with
Sweet16 under pre Lion OS versions, and Lion itself. This is fully
documented in the accompanying PDF instructions. Basically, from Lion
onwards, the onboard FTP server in Mac OSX is turned off by default. It
therefore needs to be turned on by a Terminal command to be able to
connect into it. Read the PDF instructions for how to do this.
I have not tested Sweet16 msyelf under Mountain Lion, but see no reason
why it will not work excalty as it does in Lion.

or GNO last night, but not having any such issues today - not sure why.
Some of those directories can be quite large, so it is possible you may
have seen a timeout problem with a slow conenction.

we can't have everything :-) I do find it strange that it's pulled posts
from the 21st of June and is listing posts from the 22nd after posts on
the 21st. Is there any way to list posts from newest to oldest?
The date on a message does not necessarily realte to the physical
message number in a group, as with messages arriving from many different
time zones, and from many different servers, some of which may delay
migration, they may well get out of order by a day or two. Sorting
fields in large lists on the IIgs is not quick, so such an option has
not been included.
> There is something a bit strange with the Starter Kit however. When I boot
with it on Sweet 16 v2.3.1 with a ROM01 selected, it always pauses
during startup to tell me that I don't have enough RAM to run the Finder
That is strange. I normally use the ROM03 image, so hadn't seen that
behaviour. If you point it at Finder int h System Folder, you do get to
the Finder as was intended. I shall need to look into that, and see what
is going on.

Before I can do that, somebody has to write an SSL Link Layer for
Marinetti...
