Re: Book Announcement: The New Apple II User's Guide
Enough of this pompous "press release" and web site. Here's the low-down on
what's happening:
The first complete draft (meaning that every section of the book was
complete) was made early last week. It's currently being poured over by a
team of leading Apple II experts. There are 12 chapters and nearly as many
appendices. My hopeful guess is that the review will take at least 3 weeks.
Hopefully not too much longer. The next step will be to typeset the book.
I'm going to use Adobe InDesign for that. InDesign will also help me make
the index.
Then with knowledge of the final page count comes the cover. I've already
got a cover design. It just needs some polish and a spine width (which comes
from the page count) to finish it off. The cover is going to be great. The
back is going to be a secret. No one has ever seen a photo quite like what's
on the back. I guarantee it. Yes.
Then, amazingly, we're almost done. I submit the interior and cover to
Amazon. They review it and then send me a proof. If the proof looks fine,
then we're "good to go" as they say. Show time.
