Shouldn't it complain already for $00 fill or $ff fill if there is a
bent pin?

I don't have a IIgs, but in PC memory tests, errors in walking bits
usually point to an internal isolation failure between two bit cells in
a RAM chip.

So in my uninformed opinion, the original poster has a faulty, or at
least a marginal, RAM chip; not a connection problem.

Feel free to correct me.
