There's no talk in his diary of a IIGS ending scene, and people who completed the shipped game on a IIGS can confirm there's no IIGS specific content at the end, or anyplace else. So there may be references to these things in the code, but they're definitely not in the game or out in the world anyplace.

It would definitely be cool. There also seemed to be a few subroutines for doing palette effects to fade in/out titles. Even if the DHGR screens were ported over, it would be an upgrade to see the fade effects using the stock code.
