has anyone, over the years done this? yes there would be a few things it may not be able to do. but im wondering if it can be done/has been done. some might say it would not work, as the circuitry for a pc floppies operation is inside the floppy and it wouldnt work, but,I own a catwesel card, and all the controlling circuitry resides on the cw card, so im thinknig it MAY work. Just wanting to know if anyone has tried it with a pc. It possibly allowed the pc to read and write fat12 disks....
I wouldn't recommend this. At a minimum it won't work. At worst, it has the potential to let the magic smoke out of something.
PC floppy controllers are designed to connect directly with a conventional floppy drive mechanism. The Apple superdrive is a SmartPort device and uses an entirely different signaling scheme.
