As has been pointed out there is the Virtual Apple II site: http://www.virtualapple.org/ which does have a lot of the Apple II and IIGS games from back in the day that you can either play online or download to play on an emulator or, with the help of ADTPro, turn back into real disks to play on the real hardware.

Unlike most other responses here I was, and still am, a gamer. I started out with a Trash-80, because a friend had one. It was a Model 1 level II, all of 16k of memory. Another friend told me about the Apple II+ so I bought one and used an RF Modulator to hook it to my color TV. The software I bought when I got it was games, since I also had the Sears version of the Atari 2600. I eventually got rid of the Atari, since games for it and the Apple II cost the same but the Apple's graphics blew away the Atari.

I eventually started using the II+ for more serious things, i.e. using Newsroom to run a newsletter in 1985, eventually getting Appleworks and Publish It! to do better looking newsletters. I was still a gamer though and if a new game came out that interested me I'd buy it.

Granted there aren't many sites dedicated to strictly gaming on the II but with places like Asimov you have access to all the games as well as all the other software. I still enjoy playing games on the II, even though I've also got a PS3. Sometimes the older games are just more fun.
