After the recent issues with Google Groups I've switch to Thunderbird(OS/X) as well and use my ISP's (xmission.com) news feed.

The new Google Groups like the new Google Gmail interface is a bit heavyhanded and sluggish. Time to close all my Google Groups tabs.
