A few months ago, there was some disappointment expressed in that Google
Groups had stopped sending new messages by daily email.

Well, I have good news. I worked several hours this morning and last evening
to add digest and abridged email options to Mac GUI's Usenet archive. This
involved a fair bit of software engineering, so there may still be some
kinks to work out. However, from my initial testing, the system does seem to
work.

You may receive either a digest email, which is one email for every 25 new
messages; or you may receive an abridged email, which is sent once per day
or once for every 100 messages.

Lastly, it is now possible to use a nickname in a subscribed group when
posting, as opposed to using your real account name (first and last name).

Mac GUI also carries other Apple II and Macintosh newsgroups, and you can
receive email updates to them as well. In addition, there is also an RSS
