If you are asking about the copy protection of one of the original
AppleWorks 5 1/4" program disks, you don't want to save anything on
those disks.
1. They are made to be not be able to be copied on so you have a copy of
the program.
2. Three of mine are full and you wouldn't be able to ave anything on it
if you tried, without erasing a file that may be needed in a module.
3. Any 5 1/4" floppy, made to be copied on, has the notch so you can
copy on one side. Apple never really condoned the using of both sides to
store data. In order to use both sides you need to make a notch at the
same place on the opposite edge as the one that is there. You can use a
knife, hole punch, or a special tool made to the notch that was
available for a time. To use the backside of the floppy to store data,
you'll need to insert the floppy upside down. The Apple 5 1/4" drives
have heads on the top of the drive only. There was a company that made
external drives, for a while, that copied both sides of the disk, as all
computers on the DOS side did, but they are very rare.
