Re: Does it exist? Mac USB Floppy drive r/w 800k & ProDOS disks?



800k ProDOS on a  USB:  I have done this in Mac OS 8.6  (with file sharing 
turned off) on a Power Tower Pro with a Sonnet 450 G3 card, a Belkin USB hub 
card and a Imation "Superdisk" attached.  The later is one of those 120meg 
disks drives suplanted commercially by the Zip Drive.  The Imation Works cool 
at 120 if you can find the disks, and, I even once investigated a SCSI version 
(made by a company in  Moses Lake Washington, I forget the name, rememebr the 
address..but they insisted they had no "Mac" drivers for it.) for use on a  
GS.  I figured GS/OS  might recognize it using the floptical driver..  Ah 
well, never got one to try it though. 
 But, if the 120 disks are unavailable, the Imation will also read standard 
1.4meg and 800k (and btw 720k PC) floppy disks.  Look around; mine was at 
Goodwill.
