Do you have a 3.5" drive or only a 5.25?

Does you mac have a 3.5" floppy? If the Mac and the GS both have 3.5s
you may be able to download a create your system disks using the Mac.

Read and agree with Apple's software licence agreement, then you'll get
the download page. Download the .sit version to your Mac, and with a
little luck you should be able to create a working floppy from the disk
image. (Assuming you have disk copy on your Mac.)

Sometimes it just doesn't work, particularly with some of the later
Macs - the floppies just don't like to cooperate with 800k drives. (By
the way you'll need Double Sided (not high density) disks. )

If you don't have a Mac with a floppy or you can't get it to work, you
can order the disks from A2Central.com for $2 each including shipping.

If you don't have the original manuals for the GS, you can look at the
Rom 1 manuals online at
http://www.educate.net.au/~apple2/manuals/index.html

Some of the information is a bit dated, but you may still find them
useful. I went to the effort of converting them to html for new GS
users like you.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your GS.
