You need an external supply which provides 15vDC (nominally) that
provides around 1.5amps.
The internal power supply module then uses this input to provide
the various voltages that the 2c needs internally:
+5v, +12v, -12v.
The 2c also uses a '7905' regulator to generate -5v from the -12v
supply line internally.
If you don't have the external supply, you can either get hold of a
15vDC 1.5amp unregulated supply and wire up a 7 pin DIN
female plug yourself (ask me if you need the pinouts),
or you can remove the internal supply and re-wire the external
connector to connect a commonly available PC power supply.
I chose the later since the internal supply died on my 2c, and
finding a replacement here in Oz was impossible.
