One possibility is that the particular disks you are trying to boot from
are using ProDOS-8 2.0.1 or later. ProDOS-8 2.x requires a 65C02
processor (or better), so it won't work on a standard II+ (or a II+
clone), as the II+ has a 6502 processor.
Possible solutions include:
- Boot from a different disk, and use a program selector to run the
application after swapping disks back.
- Set up another disk with a copy of the program, using ProDOS-8 1.9 or
earlier instead of 2.0.x.
