This has got to be a hoax.  There is an almost identical message posted
in comp.sys.apple2.marketplace.  Both come from the same machine
(62.42.170.33, MU1-2A-u-0288.mc.onolab.com according to the DNS), are
sourced from news.ono.com, and were posted 26 seconds apart, but have
diferent domain names in the more obvious headers.

There has not been any discussion in news.groups over the last two
months on the removal of any Apple II news groups, nor has then been any
such announcement on news.announce.newgroups.
