If you are talking about 5.25" floppies, you have to use either single
density or double density floppies. High density 5.25" floppies will
not work at all in Apple II drives. Most people used double sided,
double density (DSDD) disks with their Apple IIs.
If you are talking about 3.5" floppies, again you are better off using
double density disks as these are what most of the Apple II 3.5"
drives were designed to use. You might be able to use high density
floppies with your Apple II drive but it is a crap shoot. Some people
can't get them to work at all in their drives, others can get them to
work but the disk goes bad after a short time and others have had them
work reliably for years.
