Not at all - if ya only have 2k on the card, howdya load normal dos (or prodos) to save the contents of memory to disk, which was the whole POINT of these cards?

I think a few had some sorta built in mini-dos in rom that would write the data out to a propriatary format disk that you could manipulate with utilitioes that came w/the card.

It was all needless as far as I was concerned - for free I could just short the NMI line in one of the slots to ground, get a monitor prompt, save memory to tape in chunks, boot dos, load the data back off tape and splice it together onto a floppy myself.

If anyone ever sees a copy of Ultima iv (or was it 3? don't recall for certian) that says "cracked by the weazel", that was me, and the above is how I did it (only disk one was protected, and was only used to boot the game! - I snagged it right after the title screen loaded)
