SCSI booting problems - IIGS

Hello,

   I have been booting my IIGS to a SCSI hard disk connected to an Apple High Speed SCSI card for a while now.  For a little while I had it booting off of my SCSI OrbDrive (2.2GB removable media...one 32mb ProDOS partition and one much larger HFS partition for the rest of the space.)

   Well, today I hooked up my Orb Drive to the External Hard disk and then turned everything on.  As usual, first it went to the 5.25" drive, then to the 3.5" and then to the slot that the SCSI card was in, but when it would have booted up, I got the message "Please check startup device.".  So I shut everything off and put a disk in the OrbDrive, waited for it to spin up and then turned everything on again.  Again I got the message.  
   So then I put the Installer disk for GS OS 6.0.1 in one 3.5" drive and SystemTools1 in the other 3.5" drive, and turned the computer on again.  I got to the installer and then I quit it.  I loaded the Avanced Disk Utillity from the SystemTools disk.  I made one big partition on the orb disk and formated it.  
   Again I rebooted the computer.  This time, with the disk in the Orb drive and I got the message "UNABLE TO LOAD PRODOS".
   Then I ejected the disk from the orb drive and rebooted again.  This time I got the message "Please check startup device.
   I pulled the plug on the Orb Drive but left it connected to the SCSI chain and rebooted.  This time it booted to GS OS on the hard disk.  

I would like to be able to have the Orb Drive connected and boot up to the Hard disk at the same time.

I think that the Apple High Speed SCSI card is set to ID 7(all four switches are down).
The Orb Drive is set to ID 6.
the Hard disk is set to ID 0, it's ID can't be changed.

The Orb Drive is supposed to be able to provide termination automaticaly if nessasary.
