Two points I feel I should add:

- A displayed value of 3 or 4 means that the machine has the firmware
version which supports the memory expansion connector, but this doesn't
guarantee that the connector is there.  It is possible to install either
of these firmware versions in an older logic board, which would not have
the memory expansion connector.  This is an unusual situation, so it is
most likely that you do have the connector.

- If you have an Apple IIc+, PRINT PEEK(64447) will display a 5.  The
Apple IIc+ _does_ support the A9M0106 (Apple 3.5 Drive).  The IIc+ has
the equivalent of one of these drives built in, and will support one
externally.
