Hi supertimer. Good to see you back. We have much to learn from you.
My PC tower project for the bludisk is getting started again.
I just bought a ROM 3 from Bill Shuff. I've been looking for a
math coprocessor so bought that too. My hubby was sweet to buy it
for my Christmas present. I hope to have the system going for the
users group meeting in San Francisco end of January.
I also bought a 56K modem with power from the wall instead of the
keyboard like the 33.6K setup. It goes noticably faster set at 56K
on Spectrum than the 38k I was using. I discovered that when someone
picks up an extension phone, the computer isn't kicked offline like
it does when the keyboard supplies power.
My next investment is a printer. My HP deskjet 692c is failing. We
bought a 4 in 1 for the PC and it's a wonderfully useful machine.
I'm betting I can run one on the GS because several use PCL3 language.
I know I won't be able to scan documents to the GS, but I bet I can
copy, send faxes and print with it. I'm waiting for a refurbished 710
4 in 1 to come available at HPshopping.com for $139. If I miss that
opportunity there are others varieties at twice the price new.
