I wish Apple had given some symptoms of that, and I can only imagine the
response if I had written to them.

I think that's the least I can do, given that you've given me so much help. I'm
wondering what's peculiar to the ROM 01s that the others are using to do what
you and I are trying to do. In my case, well, I have to replace a battery on my
ROM 01, but I'm probably going to pull the SCSI adapter, et al, out of the ROM
03, put it on the ROM 01, and then have it as my "main machine." The ROM 03 can
boot from the network just fine, problem solved for now. <heh heh>

I think I searched on "Appletalk" and "Apple IIgs" together, but I have the same
slow modem issue. :-)

That, I got! [and yes, I knew it was "the other right."]

I'll take a look-see, thanks!

OK, thanks. I'll stop looking for it. I have a -wonderful- book on AppleTalk
networks here, and wish there was a section for the IIgs. If they were as
thorough in their treatment of that topic as they are of others, we'd probably
sort this one out.

No luck as of yet. The big find was my "Nuclear Detroit" trash icon that I had
Lunatic E'Sex make for me, modelled after his "Nuclear New York" trash icons, as
well as a GIF icon he made for me. I even sent him a jar of JIF peanut butter
to use as the model. I thought this stuff belonged to the ages. :-)

I think you're right. ISTR there was a mention to purchasing that disk, and
getting the aforementioned AppleTalk Network User's Guide with it.

BTW, unrelated question, but based on another thread: Most of my Macintosh
questions have to do with the "synergy" between the Apple II and the Mac. I
think folks are generally agreed here that that's acceptable use of this
newsgroup. But let's say I have some Macintosh-only questions. Which
newsgroups do you all use to get the best support? I have some Macintosh IIfx
machines here that are -weird,- to say the least, and I'd like to not have to
hit a thousand conferences, if you know what I mean.
