   I still have one of them AppleCat modems with the BSR transformer, etc.  At
one time I even had the touchtone decoder chip in one of them.  Most if not all
of the BSR consoles can only address 16 modules at one time.  If memory serves
me, the AppleCat can address 16 house codes and 16 module codes at the same
time., so you can address 256 modules at one time. 

  With the touchtone decoder and some programming, you can control devices away
from home.

  With the A/D convertor, phone handset, BSR, ability to do TTY, etc, the
AppleCat was one of the best products for the Apple II.
