Questions about the 68000 card and 8" floppy setup.

I have a question about the 68000 card. I am soon to add one of these to my
collection but the truth is... I'm not sure what to do with it. I know that
a lot of Apple II users would like to have one of these cards but I'm not
sure why? What can you do with a 68000 card? It has the manual and setup
disks but I'm not sure about what other software to use with it. Does it use
software other than the typical Apple II stuff, the same way a Z80 card
needs CP/M software?

Another interesting piece of equipment that I will soon have is an 8" floppy
drive set up. I forget the name of the company but I recognised the name
right away. My question is about the black strip that goes across the front
of the computer, below the keyboard. What is the black strip for? What does
it do? I don't actually have this setup yet but I was able to see pictures
of it. The drives are in a beige metal case, with a bunch of software on 8"
disks, manuals, card, cables, etc. I'm excited to get this setup on my IIe.
