The problem I have with this name is that is includes the Apple II series,
and I would not like to create confusion about where to go for issues
related to that line of machines.

There is much to be said for a hierarchy which is non-overlapping, with
names that are clear to all potential posters (else the Dewey Decimal
system might qualify ;-).

I frankly think that the Lisa and Apple /// almost certainly do not
justify a separate group, and agree with Paul that the occasional
Lisa or /// question in this group just adds to the entertainment
value.

The real volume I would have guessed is in the 68K Mac arena,
but if listserv's have fizzled, maybe it's not that big, either. ;-(

If that is the case, then it may be that "classic Macs" are now
primarily used as Apple II "peripherals", and dealing with them
here in that capacity is certainly on-topic. Recent networking
and disk format conversion threads come immediately to mind.
