If you have some older ][ and ][+ peripherals that plugged into the game
port, like video digitizers or clocks, you may have noticed that some of
them won't work on a //e.
This is a result of an EMI mod made to the later model //e's which
puts 0.1 mf capacitors across the pushbutton inputs. If the older
peripheral is trying to drive the PB input rapidly, or with a (typically)
weak pullup, the cap slows down the response to the point of
failure.
The capacitors are located at the back of the main board, near the
9-pin game port, and can be easily clipped.
