You'd need a serial card (sounds like someone removed it) and a com program
on the IIe to do this transfer, in addition to the proper cable. If you had
a IIgs, which can read 5.25" and 3.5" disks, you could copy to 800K 3.5"
which your IIcx could read.  The details and a lot more are covered in the
