	It's not a matter of reading or not reading. Heck, it's not even a matter 
of helping or not. If I could give him a proper answer I'd e-mail him 
privately. It is a matter of focusing on the purpose of this newsgroup. 
Topics discussed are generally broadly based on the Apple// or Apple/// 
machines (since the hardware is related). Cross platform questions are 
generally accepted as long as they relate back to the purpose of this 
group. Questions on Apple// emulators are answered if the question can 
be brought back to the purpose of relating to the Apple//. In this 
particular case, since the Lisa is not an Apple// or even related to the 
Apple// except for the fact Apple made them both, the original question 
does not tie in with the purpose of the group.

	If the people in this group want discussions about Lisas too then it's up 
to them. I'd still point out Lisas are less compatible with the Apple// 
than the Macs are. Do we let the Mac people back too? Well, actually we 
do for questions about the emulators...

	Since it is more closely related to a Mac than an Apple he could have 
posted in a Mac group with a preface something like "I know this isn't a 
Mac, but the Mac is its closest relative...". Before the Mac groups were 
created, we were getting questions like this here all the time. Some we 
were able to answer and some we weren't. He would be more likely to get 
an appropriate answer from a group of 68K Mac users than he would from a 
group of 6502 Apple// users don't you think?

	Of course the best solution would be to create a comp.sys.lisa newsgroup. 
It is not a matter of saying "go somewhere else". It is a matter of 
saying "you'll get better information in this group...". If there was a 
comp.sys.lisa there would be less confusion. I'd even support the 
creation of a comp.sys.apple3 group if enough people were going to use 
it. If anybody wants to do this I can offer some advice.
