Re: LCD displays and the Second Sight card

Were there any problems with it? >>

Until the IIgs was stolen about three years ago, Orange Apple Computer Club
used a ROM3 IIgs with an accelerator card and Second Sight card to use with a
color LCD display placed over an overhead projector. There was some vertical
wavy lines on the IIGS desktop usually, but they could be ignored. AppleWorks,
AppleWorks GS, communication software and most IIgs games and painting programs
worked fine. Wolfenstein 3D had a blocky appearance because the LCD panel
could not keep up with the screen refreshing, but that was the only program
that I remember ever giving it a problem.

After the theft, I loaned the club my LCD overhead panel and color adapter.
With that setup on a stock IIgs or IIc, we had 8 shades of grayscale and black
and white text for AppleWorks.

Don't just lock up your computer. HIDE IT! Those Second Sight cards are hard
to come by.
