When I was working with Quality, we had a guy who pretty much had a monopoly on
PC Transporter knowledge. He eventually left us, and while the other gent in
support was PC-savvy, for whatever reason, it fell up on me to pick up the
gauntlet and take over. So, I bought my first copy of PC DOS (4.01, with its
new DOS Shell, oooh, exciting!), and installed it on the PC Transporter. Over
the next couple of years, I got good with the thing, and it was about two years
before I actually got to actually put my hands on a PC clone and do work on it.
To this day, I have a good chuckle about having learned my basic PC skills on a
computer made by Apple. :-)
As I recall, Windows 3.0 was fairly painful on the PCT (yeah, yeah, I know,
"It's painful anyways." :).
