I believe you are having problems with the first step. I have run into
this frequently using Netscape to download apple files from HTTP sites.
If you can, get the files using FTP sites and use a FTP program to
retrieve them. This has cured that annoying corrupted file message for
most of my stuff.
I have heard but never looked for a program called 'uncook' or something
similar. Supposedly it will correct the download errors that are
introduced.
