There was a functional version for the IIgs using the Marinetti stack
called gsAIM.  Check out Syndicomm.com (Eric Shepherd) for details. 
Last I heard, it has been discontinued due to constant AOL server
changes, it wasn't worth having to constantly update the software to
conform.
