There is just one big disadvantage of having a cablemodem:

One cannot dial BBS's anymore!

Perhaps I should buy a long phonewire and give it a try again! It's
incredibly cheap to make a phonecall to the USA nowadays.

I used to be in the late-METAL/FV scene (around 1994-1997), after having
used AppleNET for some time. Does anyone know if there are still
METAL/FV BBS's left (FutureVision network)?
